How do we form a new skin, to grow into something strange and alive?
Dragonhide imagines a mythical creature rising from its own remnants, exploring how human growth is shaped by vulnerability. Delicate yet resilient, the creature reflects the coexistence of softness and strength.
The kinetic work builds on a past installation made using material that evoked skin to form a transparent cocoon, symbolic of protection and transformation. Seven years later, this medium is revisited to tell a second chapter: like petals unfolding or a cocoon hatching, a creature emerges from slumber with a soft yet unbreakable hide.
